Welcome from the Secretary-General

Dear Delegates, Advisors, and Friends,

It gives me great joy to welcome you to the thirty-fifth session of the East African Model United Nations which will take place in February of 2017 at the United Nations Office at Nairobi, Kenya.

The EAMUN program was founded over three decades ago by individuals who envisioned a space where bright-minded individuals can showcase their ability to come up with brilliant solutions with the common goal of achieving a better tomorrow. However, under any circumstance, this can not be done alone. EAMUN provides a platform for delegates to join ideas and knowledge in order to come up with intellectual solutions. Not only does EAMUN provide the opportunity to work together and build relationships, it allows for self-growth and self-discovery.

This year we are hoping to reemphasize the idea of working together. The theme for this year's conference is "Innovate. Collaborate. Initiate." This phrase demonstrates the essence of what us, the Executive Committee, believe to be the purpose of EAMUN. This theme exemplifies the process of inventing unconventional solutions, sharing these ideas, and executing them to their best degree in the race for a better future.

In this spirit of innovation, collaboration, and initiation, let us not hesitate to build leadership for tomorrow.
